Things to do in Barcelona

As summer is now upon us many people are jetting off on holiday. I recently went to the beautiful city of Barcelona and i thought i would share some of the things we did, saw, ate etc, just in case any of you are heading there this summer. Ill try and do this post in order of things we did.

Thai Heaven

I hold my hands up, when it comes to food im not very adventurous, i like what i like and tend to stick to that, which for me tends to be Italian or good a old British dish. However recently ive been stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new cuisines, one of the main ones being Thai.

Federal Cafe

One of my favourite things to do is hunt out new places in Manchester`s Northern Quarter and this is one of the best ive found so far. Federal Cafe is just opposite the Arndale Food Market on the outskirts of the Northern Quarter, pretty much next to another of my other favourite places, Infamous Diner.

Smithfield Social

I can never turn down an event in the Northern Quarter area of Manchester, even if I'm at university I will get the train back for it! So when I heard that there was a bar re launch, I was there! If you have ever been to the restaurant Bluu before, did you know there was a bar underneath? Neither did I but there is and its called Smithfield Social. 

Honesty

I've not been blogging for all that long so I'm yet to come across this kind of a predicament. I don't know whether it's me but I don't get to go out for a nice meal out very often, so when I do I expect quite a high quality of service. And my last trip out didn't quite meet my expectations.

Food and cocktails

Two of my favourite  topics are the focus of today's post and in my favourite location I couldn't wait to write this post! As you will know from my previous posts I love the northern quarter in Manchester so any chance that I get to go there i`m very happy!

The Kiln

I love date nights. With us both being very poor due to our student status, we dont get chance to go out very much. So when we do, we like to go out for a nice meal and a few drinks (for me it's preferably cocktails!). We have an Italian we always go to near our uni, so we thought we would try somewhere new. The Kiln in Newcastle under Lyme, which is about 10 minutes from Keele university has always been good for cocktails.

The Old Bill

I love it when family birthdays come around, it always means a good meal out somewhere (being a poor student this doesn't happen all that much). So a few weeks ago it was my mums new husband (Martin) birthday, so we thought we would surprise him and take him somewhere we had all never tried before!

Plum Crunch Cake

Since the Bake Off finished I've had a huge cake shaped hole in my heart. I miss having my mouth water at the delicious cakes that then make me stuff my face every Wednesday at precisely 8:22. So I thought why not try and bake my own!

I've wanted to do a post like this for a while but being back at uni and going into my final year it's been hard to find the time! But I've managed to pick 10 either events or people that when I think about or look back on make me smile. Starting with the people and ending with the events.

Who doesn't love cake? I mean I know we all have our favourite flavours, or specific tastes but everyone loves a certain type of cake. And every once in a while we need to satisfy this cake craving! And the place to do this is the Teacup Kitchen.

Almost Famous

It's finally weekend!! If you follow me on Twitter you will have seen that I recently won 2 free cocktails at the Great Northern branch of Almost Famous Burgers in Manchester! I was so happy! They have recently launched a new menu for both food and drinks so I couldn't wait to try them both out! I took a friend I hadn't seen for a while, give us both a little treat!
