How it actually feels to be a Graduate

As you all know if you follow me on social media that i graduated from Keele University on Wednesday.

Where is Keele i hear you ask, its just outside of Stoke which for those of you who dont know is smack bang in the middle of Manchester and Birmingham. Its been my home for the last three years and although i didn't love my course as much as i would have liked to, its been the best experience. I met some incredible people and studied on the most beautiful campus, its so sad that its all come to an end. I met my boyfriend in the first week and we have been together ever since.
My housemates who are now friends for life, i didnt get to see them all on the day but they are truly some of the best people i could have asked to live with.
But for me i always see this as an exciting opportunity to start something new, but its not as easy as it seems. There is some kind of unwritten pressure that as soon as you get a degree, BAM straight away you should end up in a job earning over 20 grand a year, well im afraid that`s not the case. Im still confused about what i actually want to do, i have no set career goals, in fact im pretty lost. I have gone back to work at my part time job that i had before i left for uni and now im just applying for all kinds of things, to see what my true passion really is. I dont know if its just me but i feel such a waste sitting around all day, having nothing to get up for but then on the other hand i want to enjoy this time of having no responsibilities and freedom as much as i can, its such a struggle! But one thing that has helped me is my family, my mum and stepdad have been such a rock to me and they will support me no matter what and at the end of the day thats all you need.
So what i wanted to get of this post is, if you are at school, college or university and feel pressure to pick what you want to do for the rest of your life right now then stop worrying, it will find you. I firmly believe that we can all find our dream jobs, just enjoy what space you are in now and stop wishing time away because you wont get these years back.
Also not to forget my favourite part, the fashion. My dress was from Topshop, i though a cute shift dress would be perfect for graduation and i bloody love this colour!! Just finding the link for it and its down to £15 in the sale, what a bargain! Then i bought these comfort style shoes from New Look and i have to say they actually were comfy and i never thought i would say that about a pair of heels!

And to all us recent graduates out there, we can do it!!

Hope you all enjoyed this post! Ill leave the links down below to my outfit if you fancy having a browse.
Leave me your thoughts below i love hearing what you guys think!

  1. Congratulations on graduating! I'm a strong believer in life finding its own way, eventually life will turn out fine so just enjoy every day as it comes! - I get what you mean with being expected to go from uni to a job, although I haven't gone to uni, I have some friends who have struggled with getting a job in their field and have ended up in a completely different job! I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine, like you said, enjoy the freedom while it lasts :)! xx

  2. I'm in my 30s, so Uni was definitely a long time ago. I will tell you that like you, I didn't know what I was going to do after graduating and sort of fell into my current career. There is no magic button, especially in this economy, but just keep doing something, whether that's travelling or a retail job and keep your eyes peeled on the jobs market. Not sure you can do it? Apply anyway, the worst they can say is no which is exactly what you had if you didn't apply. Ask for feedback and grow from it.

  3. Congratulations on graduating! Like Elsa I'm in my thirties now and what I've learned is that like clothes, you need to try on different careers to see what fits. The best thing is just to dive in head first, work out what you like about it and what you don't and then move on to the next one with the new skills you've picked up. For me I took a low job to get my foot in the door and then made myself so invaluable that I was able to quickly progress. Good luck xx

  4. Congratulations on your graduation! Such great news! 😍

It's so tough finding a job out in the real world! I'm about to start my final year of university and am really nervous about what the year holds! It's so scary that although you can graduate with a great degree, you aren't guaranteed work! Which is quite shocking considering the time and effort you put in to uni! I love what your outfit looked like! The dress goes perfectly with the robes!

    Congratulations again! 😘😘
