The Kiln

I love date nights. With us both being very poor due to our student status, we dont get chance to go out very much. So when we do, we like to go out for a nice meal and a few drinks (for me it's preferably cocktails!). We have an Italian we always go to near our uni, so we thought we would try somewhere new. The Kiln in Newcastle under Lyme, which is about 10 minutes from Keele university has always been good for cocktails.

So we thought let's not give the food a go. And I wasn't let down! We had a lovely little booth reserved for us and I loved the blue lighting in the place, it makes it a lot cosier.

I really wanted a hearty kind of meal so I ordered cottage pie and my boyfriend had the beef burger. My cottage pie was so tasty, rich gravy in the mince and carrot filling, with creamy mash potato and an nice amount of cheese cooked on top it was delicious!

I also ordered two cocktails, the key west cooler and the twister.

Oh my goodness the twister actually tasted like the ice lolly I used to have when I was child! Me and my boyfriend had to share it,as you can see from the photo!

I would highly recommend the Kiln if you are ever in the area for both food and drinks (definetly get the twister cocktail!).
