Cult Beauty Products, Yay or Nay?

I am an avid YouTube and blog reader and i love hearing what others think about make up, it helps me decide whether or not to take the plunge and buy it. When it comes to high end beauty purchases i tend to take a long time deciding whether i need it or its worth adding to my collection. Most of the time i dont need it but i get it anyway because i want to see if its worth the hype.

So i recently decided i would try out some products that i have heard so many good things about and see if they really are as good as people say.

L'Oreal True Match Foundation
Ive heard so many bloggers and You-tubers rave over this stuff so i had to try it. The shade range when i went into my local boots is just insane! I knew i would find one that was perfect for my skin tone and somehow on my own i managed to find my true match (no pun intended). I went for the shade creamy beige and for £9.99 its a decent size bottle. On application it applied smoothly, i used my real techniques foundation brush and it give a high coverage, which is what i always want out of a foundation. I was super impressed with this foundation it felt super lightweight on the skin and didnt feel cakey at all, which a lot of drugstore foundations tend to do. This one gets a big thumbs up from me.

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer
I LOVE THIS PRIMER, i have repurchased this 3 times now, it gives the most amazing glow to your skin, its perfect for those early mornings where you look tired and need to give your skin that kick to brighten it up. Its moisturising without being oily and keeps your make up in place all day. I have nothing but good things to say about this primer i love it so much

Loreal Collection Exclusive Lipstick- By J-LO
I love it when celebreties have a hand in creating products for brands and when i heard the L'Oreal were having lipstick colours inspired by certain celebrities i had to try one. I love J-LO and her make up is always flawless so i wanted to try her nude shade. I love the colour and pigmentation of these lipsticks they almost give like a creamy, satin finish and make your lips look super sexy. Thanks J-LO.

TheBalm Mary-Lou Minizer
After tragically dropping and smashing my champagne pop by Becca i was on the hunt to find a new highlighter that was just a tad cheaper but had the same effect and this one kept popping up. Again this highlighter was talked about so much i bought it and i am totally on the hype. It gives you that perfect golden glow with just the tiniest amount. I love an intense highlight so this is prefect for me if you prefer more of a subtle highlight this maybe isnt the best choice for you. For me its as good if not better than Beccas champagne pop and its not as flimsy its so much easier to use and it gives the most amazing glow! For £17.50 i think this is worth every penny.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
If i had to choose one concealer that was talked about the most in the blogging world it would be this one. When i went up to counter the lady recommended me Vanilla as a brightening concealer so i took that one but when she said the price i had to take a moment. £22.50 for such a tiny bottle, i thought this better be bloody good! I applied it under my eyes to brighten and down the bridge of my nose and i have to say the coverage is great and it really helps cover the blue under my eyes, but i dont think its worth the money. I have found ones that are on par with this for half the price. I would recommend this if your budget is pretty high but if not your drugstore ones are just as good.

  4. I have tried a lot of these products and out of all of them the NARS radiance concealer is the best. While it does cost more than L'Oreal, it is worth the cost.

  5. I have tried a lot of these products and have to say there are usually better alternatives :( I think once one popular blogger/vlogger mentions a product and it becomes cult people assume it will work the same for them too, but beauty products are not one-size-fits-all. Thanks for a great roundup.

  10. I have the L'Oreal primer but have only used it one when my skin was pretty bad so surprise, I didn't like it :D. I need to try it again now that my skin is a lot better!
I bought the Nars concealer and didn't like it either... Also none of the shades were good for me which was really disappointing as the only foundation that has the perfect shade match for me is Nars Sheer Glow. I have to try the L'Oreal lipsticks next :)x
