Smithfield Social

I can never turn down an event in the Northern Quarter area of Manchester, even if I'm at university I will get the train back for it! So when I heard that there was a bar re launch, I was there! If you have ever been to the restaurant Bluu before, did you know there was a bar underneath? Neither did I but there is and its called Smithfield Social

The whole place had a really cool 1920`s vibe. The bar staff were dressed as if they were from that time period, the dim lighting and closeness of the tables made it feel like a speakeasy of the prohibition era.
On arrival we got a free cocktail that was just pure whisky, not too my taste. So we decided to try one off the menu, between us we got the rosemary and rhubarb martini, old northern flip and the butter beer ( please don't quote me on the names there was so much choice, it was hard to remember them all!!). My personal favourite was the butter beer it was stacked with cream and tasted like cream soda mixed with vodka and caramel, it was delicious! They used a flame torch on the top to melt the caramel and it came in a really cute little mug.
The old northern flip was very chocolaty and nutty whilst the martini was very light and refreshing. There is a cocktail on their menu for everyone's taste buds.
Then to add a crazy twist to the night a pop up barber shop by Nick McClure began giving free haircuts to the men who needed a trim! Overall the place is lovely, it's very small so if it's busy it would be hard to find a seat, but the atmosphere was great and next time I'm in the northern quarter I will definitely be going back! If you are around the area soon have a pop in and see what you think!

Hope you all enjoyed leave me your thoughts below!
