Almost Famous

It's finally weekend!! If you follow me on Twitter you will have seen that I recently won 2 free cocktails at the Great Northern branch of Almost Famous Burgers in Manchester! I was so happy! They have recently launched a new menu for both food and drinks so I couldn't wait to try them both out! I took a friend I hadn't seen for a while, give us both a little treat!

We walked up to the entrance and the resteraunt even looked exciting from the outside. The lighting was fairly dark so it gave the vibe of like a grungy America diner ( the kind of place I love). I'm a sucker for any kind of well themed resteraunt. So we sat down, the waiter was even nice enough to put my coat on the back of my chair! And I have to say the menu was incredible, it gave me and my friend a good laugh! The cocktail menu enticed us immediately, the drink entitled bitch juice just had to tried. My friend ordered that whilst I tried the haribo smash (i do have a very sweet tooth!). Mine came in a small rounded cup with heavy amount of mint and fruit and wow it was strong, but the sweet flavours really made the taste quite pleasurable! The bitch juice looked nothing like I expected it had a candy cane like straw with fruit and a dusting of icing sugar it didn't quite live up to its name looks wise but it sure did taste wise!
For my second cocktail I ordered the mallow dip, which according to the menu contained unicorn nectar! And it really did taste magical! It was like a huge alcohol soaked marshmallow, I was in heaven! I was even trying to scoop up all the froth left in the bottom, with my straw!!
Okay onto the food. Since I'd never been here, even with the previous menu, I had no prior knowledge as to what their burgers were like and looking at the menu choices I was very excited. I ordered the Hog hammer which was filled to the brim with the most delicious BBQ pulled pork, with fried shoestring onions and coleslaw, which I don't usually like but this tasted good!
My friend ordered the buffalo beach club, which consisted of two burgers, chicken, bacon and cheese! I tried a bit and my gosh it was delicious!
I've never eaten in a place like this before and I have to say it was so tasty I'd come back again any day! And the cocktails are out of this world! Especially the mallow dip! My personal favourite! Hope you enjoyed and if you fancy visiting Almost famous, which I highly recommend you do! Just click on their name at the top and it will take you straight to their website.
Hope you enjoyed and leave your thoughts below I love hearing what you all think!

  6. I have to say, I wasn't that impressed with Almost Famous. Their cocktails are the best part of the establishment, but I do feel the entire thing is overhyped. The burgers I found to be more like a glorified McDonalds, just very big and greasy without the flavour. My preference for burgers would be Solita for big portions or Filthy Cow for a cheaper option.
