I found this whilst i was browsing in my local H & M store. We`ve all been there, just browsing to pass the time and that`s when you find the most amazing item, not when you actually need something! I tried it on, loved it and couldn't stop picturing the best way to style it.
I didn't just want a simple black top i wanted find one of the colours in the skirt to really make the outfit pop. I think the best way to style a skirt like this is to find a top that isn`t the main colour, i fell it adds a whole new level to the outfit then tie it all together with the block colour of the skirt. This many not be for everyone but its just my personal preference. So from then on i was on the hunt to find a teal, green colour or a gold top. I have to say i was searching for at least 2/3 weeks when i finally found this ribbed, high necked teal/green top also from H & M. It was perfect for my style, its wasn`t low cut or super cropped and only £6!
Sticking to my way of styling this meant i required black shoes so i chose my amazing lace up heels from river island. I thought these went perfectly as they also had the gold detailing on the laces. Then to really keep within the colour theme i added my greeny fringe bag from Jane Shilton that i found as a total bargain in TK Maxx. Then for jewellery this perfectly matching New Look gold necklace which i have had forever! So i doubt there will be any in stock but i will try and find a similar one to link down below.
How do you feel an embellished skirt should be styled? Do you own any embellished pieces? Top? Shorts?
Hope you enjoyed this, please leave me your thoughts below.

This skirt is insanely gorgeous! And I think you styled it to perfection. I completely agree with you that it looks beautiful when you pick up just one colour from your main piece, rather than using the main colour. I'm also just obsessed with that teal shirt! I just love everything haha
